FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS!
Here at Sun Box Studios we’ve pre-prepared some questions that we’re guessing you probably want the answers to! Find them all via the link below. Still have a question that hasn’t been answered on the list? Feel free to drop us a line so we can help you out!
How many images do I get in my package?
How many images you receive is dependent upon the package you purchase. Package options are:
Beginner - 20 images/month
Luxe - 40 images/month
Slow and Steady - 40 images/quarter
Hospitality - 30 images/6 weeks
Why do we have minimum terms for our subscriptions?
We have minimum terms for our subscriptions because we strongly believe in consistency when working with our clients. We want to see your socials and brand visuals transform and allow them time to have impact, and we know that working together regularly is one of the keys to seeing this success. Plus, we are a small business and our clients are important to us so we want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your subscription!
Can I purchase a subscription if I’m based outside of Brisbane?
Of course! For clients that are based on the Sunshine or Gold Coast there is a travel fee that is invoiced manually on the same time schedule as your package. If you are a business based outside of Brisbane - please let us know and we can send you through our interstate package and walk you through the travel costs!
What is the difference between the Strategy session process and the shot list?
Our complimentary strategy session is a one-off meeting or call that helps us get to know who you are, what your business is, what you do and how we can help by creating the best imagery relevant to you and your business’ needs.
The shot list is a template that you fill out prior to every shoot after you have completed your strategy session, breaking down the desired content into a shot by shot list. This acts as a brief for the shoot session, and is a requirement for professional photographers. Both steps are necessary and compulsory for all clients.
Completing the shot list prior to your shoot is mandatory to ensure that your minimum expectations are met as our client, and to give us an itemised step by step list that is adhered to & ticked off during your shoot. Please note that all shot lists are physically signed off on for every shoot, and we require them FIVE days prior to your shoot.
How many locations can I shoot in for a 2 hour shoot?
So you get quality out of your shoots, we recommend picking either one really versatile location or two if you need to change things up. Please factor in travel time, as moving between locations comes out of your overall shoot time!
Can I shoot at Newstead Studios?
Such a great question that we get asked a lot! Although Sun Box HQ is located here, unfortunately this doesn’t give us free access or availability to use the studio! But…we do love it! The studio can be hired out for shoots for either a 2 hr, half day or full day option. Once you’ve checked the studio’s calendar, and checked that our calendar aligns - you can book this one in! You can find more information about the studio via the link below:
Can I upgrade or downgrade my package?
We can appreciate that sometimes clients don’t want to overcommit when signing up for one of our subscription packages. So in light of that, you can always start on the Beginner package and work your way up to the Luxe if you find you’re in need of more content. Unfortunately we do not offer downgrading of packages. If you wish to change to a new package, you will need to provide 30 days notice to end the current package, then sign up to a new one via the website. See more details to cancel below.
Can you scout or provide a location?
As part of your subscription we have a few options and spaces that we can recommend when shooting around Brisbane. If you have a specific idea or concept, we require all clients to be involved in sourcing a location and we can provide feedback on whether it will be achievable with your photoshoot and the look and feel of your concept. Sharing a moodboard or visual references is a great way to share your vision with us, so we can better recommend a location to shoot at!
Are models or props included?
When it comes to product-based businesses, props and talent (talent = models / people) can be critical for the execution of creative concepts and creating images that are unique and stand out from everyone else in your market. These are not included in your shoot package but can most definitely be arranged for you at your expense for an additional pre-production fee.
This is flagged during the briefing process so please let us know what you require at the beginning!
Do you have recommendations for hair make-up and styling?
We sure do! We know lots of creative friends and faces that can help you with preparing for your shoot. We have a Shoot Prep 101 pdf that you will receive when you sign up, with a list of contacts and recommendations for hair, makeup artists and stylists to help you with anything you might need. Feel free to ask us for this once you’ve made your booking!
Can I cancel my subscription?
First things first - we would love to chat through any feedback you have while you’re with us, just email us anytime you need to workshop something! We don’t want to see you go! If you have to though, subscriptions can be cancelled but this can only be initiated after the completion of your minimum sign up term. See below for more details regarding cancelling.
How much notice do I need to give you to cancel my subscription?
All monthly subscription clients are required to give one month’s paid notice when cancelling your subscription. This can be initiated after the completion of your minimum term. This gives us time to finalise your subscription and to fill your pre-existing spot. All cancellations must be provided in writing.
What is my minimum sign up term?
The minimum terms vary depending upon your package. For monthly packages such as the Beginner and Luxe a minimum sign up term of 6 months is required. For those signing up to the Slow and Steady, a minimum term of 12 months is required as your payments are quarterly. Slow and Steady packages do not require a paid cancellation after the minimum term, just your notice in writing.
Do my shoots expire?
Yes - our subscriptions are very popular and in the interest and fairness of all clients, shoots must be undertaken as per package specifications. This is to ensure that our routine schedules run smoothly - there’s only so many allocated shoot time slots per month or quarter. Should you fail to book your shoot prior to your next shoot period commencing, you will forfeit the missed booking for that time period. Shoots are non-refundable as per the T&C’s.
What payment types do you offer?
Our packages require card payment and a recurring payment schedule is initiated at the checkout. Once your recurring plan has been created you will be able to access your plan to update or change your card details etc.
How do I schedule a shoot?
All shoots are scheduled using our online scheduling system. You will be provided an automated email with a link to this to book in your shoots in your welcome email and for the recurring periods after that. Please note, as the client, it is your responsibility to book your shoots in, on time, every shoot period!
How do I reschedule a shoot?
Cancellation of a shoot needs to take place 48 hours notice in advance. Upon cancelling, you will be required to re-book a new date using the online booking system. Please note that there may be limited availability due to other client bookings.
What happens if I’m running late for my shoot?
Please don’t be late - we can’t wait! If you’re running late for your shoot we need you to let us know as soon as possible. If you are late for a shoot, your shoot time slot will remain the same as bookings need to continue running on time out of courtesy for other client bookings that day. Should you like to extend or book in another shoot to make up for lost time, you can do so at an additional expense, pending availability.
How long is the turnaround time on images?
Here at Sun Box Studios we know getting imagery back can be exciting and even better when it’s delivered to your door quickly! General turnaround times for the initial gallery sit at 48-72 business hours after your photoshoot, sometimes sooner. If our hands are a little full we will always let you know in advance if there are any changes to when your images will be arriving. You will then select your favourites (the quantity as per your subscription), and the final high res images will be sent to you ASAP!
How do I select my images?
Once you have finished your shoot - images are edited in house. After the editing process is complete you will receive a link to your gallery, where you can select your allocated quantity of favourites (on desktop or mobile). You will then receive all your favourites in high-res!
Can I buy more if I love them all and can’t decide?
So many of our clients struggle picking their favourites… because there’s simply so many goodies! If you’d like to purchase more images you can do so for $50 + GST per image, or alternatively you can purchase an extra image pack. Our extra image packs are exclusively-priced bundles for our Sun Box subscribers. If you need extras - just let us know!
What do I do if I’m unhappy with my images?
Here at Sun Box Studios we have a range of systems in place to help prevent this from happening. As a client you are provided detailed briefing forms that are filled out as well as a shot list template that is required prior to every shoot. This is mandatory to ensure that the minimum expectation of the client is met and to give us an itemised step by step list that is adhered to & ticked off during your shoot.
Clients must advise us within a maximum of 48 hours of receiving images for discussions to take place. Client satisfaction is our number one priority and all queries will be dealt with as such.
How long can I access past shoot images for if I’d like to purchase more?
All images are kept on file and stored for 12 months after your shoots. Images are always able to be purchased at an additional fee (you can find more about this above) and must be purchased in this time frame. After this, all completed work will be disposed of after the end of the 12 month period.
What happens if I run over my allotted shoot time?
If you happen to run over your shoot time, overtime will be billed at 30 minute increments based on your package rates and will be billed in a separate invoice after the shoot.
