Behind The Shoot (BTS) is a new intimate interview series and gallery exploring my client’s experiences of working alongside me from start to finish. A story based testimonial sharing exactly why I do what I do. A lot of the time when we build business relationships, we get so caught up in the job we forget to nourish the community of businesses we have connected with and reflect on what we have learnt and shared. BTS shares all the little experiences along the way so you get to hear about the story not just see the finished product.

Who is ISHANI DESIGNS?

ISHANI Designs is a Brisbane based women's clothing label, designed in Australia and made ethically in India. Owned by husband and wife duo Ajay and Alicia, they strongly focus on 'slow fashion' using hand block printed fabrics made in Rajasthan, India.

So Alicia & Ajay, how did you come across Grace Elizabeth Images?

Oh, Instagram! We also came across you specifically through your Brisbane hashtags. 

What did you seek out Grace Elizabeth Images for and what did your business need?

We wanted more professional looking images. The one thing that stood out to us was your recent duo shoot of Emily and Demi. Previously we had only one photoshoot per range which was a location shoot of the product. We needed better catalogue shots in the studio to showcase the range better, but also a professional look book shoot. Because we wholesale via email to clients, they buy from the images. They are the selling point. 

How did you find your experience working with me?

After getting in touch we loved that you were enthusiastic and had ideas, which we were fresh out of. We prefer someone who knows what they are doing and to share ideas to achieve the best result possible. We also liked knowing that this is what you do full-time, We didn’t have to wait weeks for images with a quick turn around and you were really approachable. You were the most professional photographer we’ve worked with to date and made the whole process really easy. 

How has Grace Elizabeth Images helped to develop your brand and tell your story?

Our products will be seen properly and clearly now, with the images improving sales. Our look book shoot has given us more content for both the website and social such as Instagram, driving more exposure and traffic. Our brand, now looks more professional and sits at a new standard. We’ve put so much money, time and effort into our dresses and to see them photographed as they should be just raises the quality. 

How did you feel when you received your finalised images back?

We were amazed! They were absolutely beautiful and everything we were hoping for and more. We had tears of joy, when you see all of your hard work captured in a way that truly represents the beauty of the item it’s an amazing thing and not everyone can do it. We are so glad we found you!
